What has been your experience as a bisexual person?

My experience as a bisexual person has been very positive. I have found that being part of the bisexual community online has allowed me to meet people who are like-minded and open-minded about sexuality. It’s also been great to be able to discuss any issues I may have had with my identity in a safe and supportive environment. The bisexual chat rooms I’ve frequented have provided me with an opportunity to connect with other people who can relate to what it feels like to navigate through life as a bisexual person.

How do you think society’s attitudes towards bisexuality have changed over the years?

I think society’s attitudes towards bisexuality have improved a lot over the years. With more people openly discussing their sexuality, more visibility and representation in media, and even the creation of online bisexual chat groups, it’s definitely easier to be out and proud about being bi!

What advice would you give to someone who is just coming to terms with their bisexual identity?

If you are just coming to terms with your bisexual identity, the best advice I can give is to be gentle and patient with yourself. It’s natural to feel overwhelmed and uncertain when first exploring such a life-altering topic. Take the time to research, read stories from other members of the bisexual community, join a bi chat or online support group, and find someone you can confide in who will listen without judgement. It’s also important to remember that no two people experience sexuality in exactly the same way – what works for one person might not work for another. So don’t be afraid to experiment and find what works best for you! Above all else, remember that your identity is valid and worthy of love and acceptance – both from yourself and others.

What misconceptions about bisexuality have you encountered in other people?

I’ve encountered a lot of misconceptions about bisexuality in other people. One of the most common is that being bisexual means you’re equally attracted to both genders, which isn’t true! Everyone’s sexuality is different and can range from primarily attracted to one gender with a small attraction to another, or even evenly split between both genders. Another misconception is that bisexuality isn’t real and it’s just a phase people go through – but it’s just as valid as any other sexual orientation! It’s also important to remember that bisexuality doesn’t mean you have to be equally attracted to men and women – there are so many gender identities out there and they all deserve respect.
